This post is for you. I want to share a few insights into how I relax in my day to day life. It’s something I consciously remind myself to do. I am naturally a headstrong person that loves staying super busy and thrives on working head down on more than one task. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and keeps me busy. I love being busy! Knowing this about my self, I have to create balance in my life. This means I carve out time for relaxation, trying new restaurants, or visiting places that take me out of my normal comfort zone to keep me energized and carefree.
Do you have at least 5 minutes a week to pamper yourself? If not, that’s okay, but this is something I definitely recommend for the upcoming year, 2019. I seriously can’t believe it’s about to be 2019 y’all!
Just think about some of the smaller things like a manicure, visiting a museum, watching a movie without interruptions, or one day a week with no social media. These are a few of the easiest ways to pamper yourself in the upcoming year. You deserve it. ❤️
Still don’t think you have time for yourself? I put together a short list with a few ideas to get you started.
- Cook yourself a fancy meal! This could be breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anything! This doesn’t have to be a difficult recipe. This can be something that looks delicious and maybe even Pinterest-Worthy! Today, I went to Starbucks for a Venti White Mocha and came back home to turn up some music and cooked sausage, eggs, waffles, and fruit. It wasn’t the hardest recipe to make, but all together feels like a special home-cooked meal. Try cooking something that feels special to you!

- Try a Face Mask & NO scrolling! I love challenging myself to try things without any screens involved. Spend 10-20 minutes with a face mask! Go ahead and slice those cucumbers for your eyes and make this some amazing spa time. This is awesome for your skin and is great for screen free relaxation. For us busy bodies, this can be hard without a phone! If you’re all in to try this one, go for a face mask and a bubble bath. 💗

- Take a short drive or weekend trip! Sometimes going on a quick overnight trip or going for an hour drive with no destination in mind can make you feel totally refreshed. There’s just nothing like driving with the windows down, music blaring, and singing at the top of your lungs to clear your mind. Head out to visit that park, mall, restaurant, museum, or nearby city that you’ve been wanting to visit. Get outside and explore! This is one of my favorite things to do, and the picture below is from the past week finding some new views!
